Has anyone had any success transferring your AMA cruise deposit for the same cruise to a different date?

Has anyone had any success transferring your AMA cruise deposit for the same cruise to a different date?

I was considering doing just that on the "Black Sea" cruise next year (May 2013) and they told me to do it as soon as possible because if I wait too long they could charge me an "administrative fee". I didn't ask how much that would be, but recently I cancelled a Viking reservation for a similar date next year and it cost me $100.
