We were just on the Explorer 4/12 - 4/26/2012 and the concierge was Mario Reyes.

I sailed with Carlos Ortiz twice and will be missing him on our December 2012 NYE cruise - how was Mario?

We really liked Mario. We had heard so much about Carlos that we were a little disappointed when we found out he wouldn't be there, but Mario didn't disappoint us.

 

He was very nice and did a great job making sure everyone had a place to sit. The lounge was fairly full, but never so full that they couldn't add a chair. After a day or two when he saw who usually sat together, he would make sure there were enough chairs for the regular groups.

Where did Carlos Ortiz go. Is he on vacation or did he go to another ship.

Carlos left the EOS approx. 4/8 - he was transferred to the Liberty of the Seas....LUCKY ship! I've heard very, very good things about Mario Reyes, though. I look forward to meeting him in person next month.
