canuck eh? Posted May 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2012 We will be in port from 8 -5. If we rent a car to drive to Peggy's Cove will we also have time for the Maritime Museum and Pier 21? Thanks.
maryann ns Posted May 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 8, 2012 You should be able to do this, especially if you get off the ship ASAP and have the rental car all arranged and closeby. If you get to Peggys Cove early you can spend an enjoyable few minutes there before the crowds. If you do run out of time the last two places are just a few minutes from the ship. p_mori7 Posted May 11, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 11, 2012 Peggy's Cove is about a 1 hour drive each way. Once you have spent 1 or 2 hours there, that's about all there is to see. There is a pretty good family style restaurant / gift shop there, which could be a good place for lunch.

Like the others said you should be able to do it all in that amont of time. We rented a car there last fall and spent a couple hours hanging around town and visiting the Public Gardens before heading to Peggys Cove. If you like lobster I recommend driving about 1.5 miles past Peggy's Cove to a place called Ryer & Ryer Lobster LTD. They are a lobster wholesaler, but you can pick a lobster out of their tanks and they will cook it up for you. You will sit at the picnic tables outside and they will serve you on paper plates, with bibs and a roll of paper towels. The best lobster meal I've ever had. Really reasonable also.
