chiper Posted May 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2012 any help is welcome is there anywhere to store luggage for the day after disembarking in Sydney before a late flight:confused:
buchhalm Posted May 9, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Unfortunately the luggage lockers at circular quay, where the overseas pax ship terminal is, has shut down. I suggest you take a taxi out to the airposrt (around 20 minutes and perhaps 30 AUD) and deposit the bags there or check them in early. Then taxi it back into town. For 1 or 2 of you the airport train is cheaper, but if it is more of you, a taxi may be cheaper because of a silly "airport station fee". Be aware that SYD does not have any proper airport trains. They are regular suburban trains that happen to stop at the airport terminals. There is no dedicated space for suitcases, but outside rush hour you can leave them in the area near the doors. Just keep an eye on your stuff...
PennyAgain Posted May 9, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2012 Your airline may not accept your baggage too early. Verify bfore making a trip out to the airport just to check bags. Your cruise line may offer you some arrangements for the last day baggage situation.
buchhalm Posted May 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 10, 2012 However there ARE luggage storage facilities at the airport, in case the airline does not accept the bags early. It should not be a problem with Qantas or another carrier that has more than one flight a day as one of their counters will be open. For other airlines, checkin will open at the latest 3 hours before departure
