Anung Un Rama Posted May 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2012 So we've done 2 and I feel like they were pretty well recieved but I wanted to ask the masses what you look for in a review. I just booked #4 on the Pride for Memorial Day week and while we just did a review of the Pride in September, this will be a different itinerary and certainly plan on doing another review. So what do you guys want?

ibcnusoon Posted May 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I like pics too, just not food porn when reading a review.
Rottweiler Puppy Posted May 14, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Just the cruise info listing the good AND bad. Not really interested in a vacation review, I just want the cruise part, not the flight and hotel. Of course folks can do that, thats cool too. I just skip to the cruise part. gbphatcat Posted May 14, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2012 pics especially cabin pics there are so many that ask what does this cabin or that cabin looks like
BeachChik Posted May 14, 2012 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2012 lots of pics I second this ^ And information about excursions if you did them, cost, time, your experience etc.
meatloafsfan Posted May 14, 2012 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Truthfully, I want whatever the reviewer is willing to give. I like the short and sweet reviews (food good, cabin bad, ports sunny) I like the long drawn out reviews that give every detail from the time the person started packing to the moment they finished their post cruise laundry. I like all the reviews in between. I know how much work goes into a detailed report so I don't expect those all the time. I like the pre-cruise stuff - I haven't sailed out of a lot of ports so I like reading about area hotels, car services, shuttles, restaurants, walgreens, etc because I file that info away in the back of my mind in case I ever manage to sail out of somewhere other than Port Canaveral. rockbock Posted May 14, 2012 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2012 Pics, pics, and more pics. I like to see lots of them inside the cabin. I also like to see lots of excursion pics. I don't care so much about food porn and I have no interest at all in pics or details of the pre/post-cruise hotels.
Aldeya Posted May 14, 2012 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2012 DETAILS! As many as you can write about including pre-cruise stay. So many times I've found some information that I wouldn't even think about otherwise. I really appreciate long detailed reviews with a lot of pics and extremely grateful to those who take time and effort to post .
Unknotted Posted May 14, 2012 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I like to hear briefly about pre/post cruise hotel and transportation to the port. I don't care about embarkation/debarkation unless there is something unusual about it because it is different for every cruise and depends so much on what time you show up. I like hearing about excursions, whether ship sponsored or private...I might want to try one that you recommend. This includes where you ate at the port cities. And mostly I want to know what you loved about your cruise, or hated about it. Now if you go overboard complaining about everything (and some people do that) you will lose me in a heartbeat...but if you have a couple of things that bother you, sure, I'd like to hear about them. And yes, pictures.

jamers22 Posted May 14, 2012 #13 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I like lots of pictures. Good and bad reviews of the ships. Info and pictures on ports. This really interests me. Always looking for something to do and pictures just make it so much better.

Anung Un Rama Posted May 14, 2012 Author #15 Share Posted May 14, 2012 They are easier for me to read when the font is bigger... All good information and I'll try to keep this in mind when I get to posting it as well :D It sounds like you guys like pictures so I think you'll be set there (had over 1000 on the Liberty). We just drive to Baltimore so I unfortunately can't help out much but I'll let anyone on our roll call chime in if they flew in and stayed anywhere. We've done all these ports before so I hope to be as informative as possible on them (granted we'll probably stay on the ship again in Freeport :o)

nlktx49 Posted May 14, 2012 #17 Share Posted May 14, 2012 I read your first review, and I was so impressed with it, I remembered your site name and always look for it. That review was perfect - just the right mix of writing and pics, and lots of details. And it was long - I love long reviews! You've got it down, don't need to do anything different. You should be writing for travel magazines.
jnmcruise Posted May 14, 2012 #18 Share Posted May 14, 2012 you have a very nice writing style so dont change much... always want more pictures of the cabins and areas around the ships... plus anything from the excursions...
tiffy0428 Posted May 14, 2012 #19 Share Posted May 14, 2012 A big story with lots of pics. I love when I'm on lunch break and I have my kindle, I can read long reviews with lots of pics. I like the start of it with the drive or flight and the hotel. I love ship picutres atleast two from every area. I love the good the bad and the ugly. Mommabear5 Posted May 15, 2012 #21 Share Posted May 15, 2012 I want lots of picture ofcourse, not so much food porn but everything else. I like to read about the islands, how you got around, good places to hang out and grab a bit and drink as well as how you got around there. I love hearing about the sea days and what was offered on board those days, activitys, drink special, gift shop items, if there was music on the lido deck, ect. I want to know about your cabin, the good the bad and everything in between. I want to know about the weather and the feel of the ship. I have vertigo so how much motion a ship takes on good is very important to me. For me I skip over the pre cruise adventures. ")
ardnassac79 Posted May 15, 2012 #22 Share Posted May 15, 2012 Chris just told me he asked this question so I was curious to the responses - thanks everyone, really!! We will take a lot of this into consideration when we come back :D I clearly remember reading a really long and involved review back before our first cruise in 2009 before either of us were active on these boards, and it was one of the biggest draws for me to this site. I enjoy being able to pay it back with reviews that others like!
Beth Posted May 15, 2012 #23 Share Posted May 15, 2012 Personally I would like the whole review posted at one time instead of having to look for the review when I get online.
