Tips on excursions?

I always tip the "operator" upon departing. Be it a bus tour, or boat tour. How much depends on your experience on the excursion and the cost.

I also do the same. The bus driver, person giving the tour etc. Though if the excursion turned out to be pretty lame, I don't.

3-4 hour tour depending on cost about $1-2 per person. 4-8 hour tour depending on cost $3-5. If very good more, if lame less.

I once ended up on a tour that said we would be in one spot for an hour but had 10 mins there (bathroom break only) but had a full hour at a shop that was one small room with about 10 article for sell. The bus they used looked like it escaped from a junk yeard. I did not tip. They are no longer in business.

What about the dolphin swim adventure? Do you tip anyone there?

Sheila

Yes you need to tip the dolphin.

Haha, sorry, just had to get that out.

For a cruise ship, would be a good idea to bring a stash of $1 bills, and be ready to tip.
