cruzisme Posted May 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2012 Please help us with this! We each have a carryon and we are staying on Post Street Need to get to Pier 35 this Sunday May 20. Can we do this on a bus and streetcar or are they not suitable for us with our carryons (not regular size suitcases). We could try for a taxi if public transportation is not recommended. Thanks for your help. Do we need proper change, do they take bills?
sarafinadh Posted May 19, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 19, 2012 Regular fare is $2.00, Discount fare for 65+ is .75 and you will need exact change. Bills are accepted. Depending on where you are staying on Post Street the easiest way to make the trip to Pier 35 is to walk south at what ever cross street is closest to Market Street and board the F. http://www.sfmta.com/cms/mmaps/documents/F-layer.pdf If you are staying out Post Street some distance and the walk to Market would be difficult then there are the 2 and the 76 that run the length of Post Street down to Market Street. http://www.sfmta.com/cms/mmaps/documents/2-layer.pdf People travel with luggage on the MUNI all the time. Some times it will be more crowded than other times, but there are areas of the buses and streetcars that are open enough that, unless you are sharing the space with a wheelchair passenger, there will be a good place to stash your bags. ; -)

sarafinadh Posted May 20, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 20, 2012 It was beautiful today, wasn't it? SO long as you managed to not get blown away by the stiff breeze. I spent the day working on my boat and the lines were all snapping and popping in the wind! If you took the F today then you are old pros now ; -) Have a great trip.
