fabby50 Posted May 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Hey! Just signed up for the Pride in a penthouse. Couple of questions: Since there is no Cagney's, what restaurant do they use for the suite breakfast/lunch? Heard there are no "3 bottle of booze on the wall" in suites for the Hawaiian sailing anymore and that they give you wine instead. We don't drink wine. Has anyone been successful in trading the wine for something else? Or, are they re-thinking the booze versus wine exchange in any way? Thanks -
Fishbait17 Posted May 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Not sure which restaurant they use for suite breakfast/lunch, hopefully someone else can help you with that. Also, the "3 bottles of booze on the wall" benefit is for Owner's Suites, Deluxe Owner's Suites, and Garden Villas only, so the Penthouse wouldn't qualify on any ship - what category did you book? I am pretty sure the reason they have replaced the liquor with wine on the POA is refinement in local Hawaiian law, the same reason that Bar Setup is not available for Hawaiian sailings. NauticalMom Posted May 24, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 24, 2012 Lazy J's is the equivalent of Cagney's.
FLAHAM Posted May 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 24, 2012 The sparkling wine I received twice in Penthouses was plain awful.
rockabutzer Posted May 24, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 24, 2012 The sparkling wine I received twice in Penthouses was plain awful. Don't drink the stuff, so the butler/conciergne can do whatever they want with it. :p
phillygirl63 Posted May 24, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 24, 2012 Lazy J's is the equivalent of Cagney's. And the French restaurant on POA is Jefferson's Bistro, the equivalent to LeBistro on other NCL ships. We had a penthouse suite on POA. You will have a butler and concierge. There will be some sort of snack (like canapes, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries) delivered to your room each night. There is no bar setup available on POA. As for the complimentary bottles of booze, as someone else said, on ships other than the POA, that is only offered to certain categories which are higher than a penthouse on any ship. It is not offered on the POA at all. If your room is on the port side of the ship, take advantage of the drink specials offered during the Napali sailby and sit on your deck. We really enjoyed doing this with the other two couples who were on the cruise with us. The pineapple one is the best.
