Taxi to Hell!!!

Hi everyone,

All we want to do is grab a taxi at the dock and take it to hell and maybe if there is time, get dropped off in downtown Georgetown on the way back.

A couple of questions:

How long is the taxi ride from the Port to Hell?

Approximate cost?

Is downtown Georgetown very far from the port? Walkable?

What time does the Post Office open?

Can you buy postcards right there in Hell?

Thanks for all of your replies, I really appreciate it!

The main port docks are right in the heart of George Town. The shopping and such is right there as you step off the tender docks.

Public bus to Hell should be US$2.50 per person, each way. Should be about a 15 minute ride each way. Taxis cost more and would be a little bit faster.

The gift shops at Hell sell post cards and stamps. You can write your post card and drop it off at the gift shop for them to mail or walk next door to the official government Hell Post Office which is open 8:30am to 5pm Monday through Friday or 9am to 12:30pm Saturdays.

Thanks so much for your answer. Now we know we can either use the bus (which we love to do in ports) or grab a cab and then still have lots of time to stop in Georgetown to do a bit of shopping. Thanks again.

Is the drive to Hell scenic? We want to see a little of the island. But we also want to swim with the rays. So now have to figure out if we can do all of it.

you can easily get all that done, its a really small island, swimming with rays takes 2 hours max and have them drop you at 7 mile beach then just taxi or bus it from there
