GC Taxi Question

We leave in a week :) and I'm trying to get my cash in order. I read somewhere that the typical taxi fee from the port to one of the major hotels on 7 mile beach is $16 each way for up to 3 people. Of course--we are a family of 4 (children are 18 & 23).

 

Has anyone experienced this? Are we really going to have to take 2 cabs to get to the hotel where we have a room for the day?

You can catch the bus for $2.50 pp right outside the dock area...easy/peezy...and cheap! They will drop you anywhere along 7-Mile Beach you want. The buses are there about every 15 mins. for the return trip.
