swmcruiser Posted June 1, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 1, 2012 My family has booked Cabin 3544, an oceanview cabin on Explorer of the Seas. Ship is sold out so no upgrades to a larger cabin are available. Has anyone with kids stayed in this size cabin? My two kids (both are 100 lbs or less) are planning on sharing the sofa bed. We know that we will need to take turns using the room for showering/changing due to the small size, but just want to make sure no one will be sleeping outside on the deck!:)
cb at sea Posted June 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 1, 2012 If there are 4 beds, no one will have to sleep on deck! BUT...it's going to be quite cramped.. but the cabin is pretty well-designed and there's lots of storage spaces...cubby holes and such. Just don't be expecting a hotel-sized room....you aren't getting that much space!
Airbear232 Posted June 4, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2012 Hi, We've stayed in a G before with 2 kids and no problems at all. Are you sure about the sofa bed? The map for your cabin shows it having two pullman beds. This is what we had and they pull down from the sides of the cabin. We had no problems whatsoever with this arrangement. If you did want a sofa bed for the kids, you might want to confirm the configuration with Royal. Cheers, Aaron
serene56 Posted June 4, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 4, 2012 according to the deck plans there is two upper beds and two lower beds. if the cabin has a sofa-- it may be a small love seat type. if you seperate the beds and put them under the upper beds you will have much more floor space. The KEY to cruising with multiple people in a small space is to keep that space organized. Get an over the door shoe holder to hold all the "outside" stuff. Sunglasses. ship cards, activity pages. etc. etc. Keep everything in the shoe holder and NOTHING on the vanity. Use one inside the bathroom to keep everything OFF the vanity. UnpACK ALL SUITCASES- do not live out of the luggage. Store empty luggage under the beds. store dirty clothes back into the empty suitcases. Try to utilize the gym showers as much as possible. We did 5 of us to an inside cabin on our first cruise.
