lineguy Posted June 8, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2012 We are planning our first cruise for June of 2014 - just in the planning stages right now. For Radiance of the Seas, which side is best for viewing the Hubbard Glacier: Starboard or Port? We are planning on getting a cabin with a balcony on Deck 8. Any advice would be helpful. megr1125 Posted June 8, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2012 the captain will turn the ship so that everyone gets a view.....that's what happened on our alaska cruise.. it was gorgeous even though the weather was slightly rainy, cloudy and chilly the whole time... cb at sea Posted June 8, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2012 You won't want to stay on your balcony anyway...get thee to an upper deck and see ALL there is to see!
markarmel Posted June 8, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2012 We did the southbound trip on Radiance and had a cabin on port side.As the previous post advised the ship is positioned so both sides have viewing time of Hubbard. We had fantastic weather back in June 2007 and the entry toward Hubbard was incredible. Your going to love it. By the way if you looking at how to get down from Anchorage to Seward the Coastal Classic Train was a fantastic way to get down there.Have fun planning,it's half the fun of it all.
