nearly there Posted June 9, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2012 Soon going on our first river cruise on Viking Odin. We're cruising with another couple and assumed that a table for 4 at dinner wouldn't be a problem. Just reading on other threads that tables on Viking are only for 6 or 8. Does anyone know if tables for 4 (or indeed for 2) are available?
lahlah57 Posted June 10, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 10, 2012 I am aware of the viking emerald and there was no less than 8 at a table. If you can pull up one of the shots of the dining room you can get an idea. I truly believe there are NO 2 person tables and no 4 person either. It is more space efficient to place tables for 6 or 8 than taking up room for smaller tables. Ocean liners are better equipped for a variety of tables. nearly there Posted June 10, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Thanks Lahlah, I was hoping that the new ships might be different. We shall see and I will try to remember to report back.
pacmom Posted June 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2012 On the Viking Sun there were tables for 4. Uniworld and AMA and Vantage have tables for 2 and 4. Pat
sk8teacher Posted June 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2012 According to the Cruise Critic review of the Odin, they said: "The dining room is configured with tables for four, six, eight and one for 10. Five tables can be separated by a few inches for those wanting dinner for two (though not with that much privacy)." So you might be able to have those five tables converted to two tables of four.
