29eleven Posted June 10, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Taking my first cruise in Sept. We are doing the western Caribbean with stops in 1. Labadee, Haiti; 2. Falmouth, Jamaica; 3. Cozumel, Mexico; Trying to figure out which places I should dive and who to dive with besides the RCCL. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Definitely want to dive at least one place but may do two.

packyourpixiedust Posted June 10, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Cozumel has a strong current. You swim to stay in one spot. Keep this in mind. I have no idea about diving in Jamaica. One day plan to get to Hondurus and Belize- there is some pretty great diving there!
Capt_BJ Posted June 10, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Labadee - no diving that I'm aware of, it would have to be an RCCL tour and I don't recall there being one. Falmouth - no diving that I've heard of - no posts here Coz - search and you'll find plenty of opinion and recommendations right here . . . back up to the the beginning of this FORUM (SCUBA and Snorkeling) search COZUMEL in this forum
ScubaCruiser54 Posted June 10, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 10, 2012 Cozumel is beautiful water. It is drift diving. Read up on it and ask questions. Blue Angel diving is who we dive with when we go. We have always been pleased.
cruzinisgood Posted June 11, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 11, 2012 We just came back from Freedom of the Seas Labadee snorkled Jamaica we heard the diving was not good so again we did a snorkel excursion Grand Cayman we went out with Cayman Turtle Divers. They picked us up by the port, they take 6 divers max . Cozumel Eagle Ray Divers. 6-8 divers, there were 4 on ours. Took a taxi to the marina $8 and they had one waiting for us when we returned. People talked about the current. It was by far one of the most beautiful dives I've done. There is more currents where i dive now then we experienced in Cozumel. I think they also watch for certain conditions. My husband liked Grand Cayman better but we both would dive both again in a heart beat:D

FF-EMT Diver Posted June 28, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2012 Definitely do Cozumel, we used Dive with Martin and had a great time. However the DM that took us out that time has branched out and has his own business now and we will be using him coming up in Dec, I HIGHLY recommend him.https://sites.google.com/site/scubapabloczm/
