How long is the ride from Whittier to Anchorage?

What transfer company do you recommend?

We want to get to Anchorage to rent a car.

Any deals on car rentals? My research has found $100 day (with tax/fees) for a 2 or 3 day rental.

Whittier shuttle dot com are one company that do a commentsted tour for $45 pp including a stop at the conservation park (3hrs) or less for the commentated but straight through to Anchorage trip (1.5-2hrs) $35. Very scenic trip so might be worth taking your time?

We used the Princess transfer to the airport--very efficient! We used Alamo at the airport--approx $160 for 4 days--we arranged it about 9 months in advance. Allowed us to return car to airport on our way home.

There's an Avis car rental office in Whittier very close to the terminal. I would check with them to see how much a rental is starting from there and returning in Anchorage when you are finished with your trip. You could easily walk with your luggage to Avis or leave your luggage at the terminal, pick up the car and come back to get the luggage.
