Summit Review 6/10-6/17

Recommended Posts

Here's a listing of the ship's staff. Darren Tiller is the Hotel Manager. He just reported on board shortly after their repositioning. I think he really turned services around from reading previous reviews. Most reviews lately have been favorable.

Thank you!! Just do not know how I missed this.

I agree, Darren was very approachable on our cruise and took note of the issues we had. We did not see a measurable improvement in the service in our cabin after we spoke to Darren but I think that would have involved them replacing the attendant. Most of the missing Aqua items did appear (but it was Day 5/6 - we had only seen Darren on Day 4 to mention the issues). We did also have a call from Guest Relations.

Also the Chief Housekeeper changed on June 10th and I suspect Darren would be wanting to concentrate his efforts on setting up standards with the incoming jobholder.

Certainly, the standards set in the restaurants and bars that we experienced was high. If they can sort out the Cabin Attendants to get a consistent service for all guests it will be a cracking ship

Do you happen to remember the name of the new Chief Housekeeper? Thanks.

Sorry Anne, he/she had not come onboard, we disembarked the same day as the previous gentleman, who was very pleasant from Puerto Rico as I recall. I know his staff liked him, but maybe that was because he was a little too light touch sometimes

CruisersTimesThree ... Great review of your sailing. I am looking at a sailing in a balcony cabin on the same ship that will be docking in King's Wharf, Bermuda. Although anything's possible, do you remember which side of the ship faced the town? Was it the left side when docked? It would make selection of a balcony cabin a little more certain as we'll be docked for a few days.

We were on the port side of the ship and we faced the dock which I think was better. We had a nice view of the dockyard and the comings and goings of everyone.

Our friends were on the starboard side and their view was the water and some homes in the hills. They liked our view much better, thought theirs was boring.

Thanks for an excellent detailed review. My husband and I are counting down to our first ever cruise and it's on the Summit.

Did you find the premium alcohol package to be worth the money? We both purchased one so we're excited about that!

Hi Gina....Yes! We all had the premium alcohol package and thought it was the best! Instead of thinking about having that second drink by the pool, or one during the show, a couple in the casino, great coffees at the cafe, wine refilled all during dinner, we didnt have to worry about it at all, plus no mass of receipts all over the place.

We found it to be well worth the cost and especially so after catching the 10% off sale. Enjoy it!
