private driver/tour n kotor

Just returned in May...

A private pre-arranged driver is not necessary, however, a fun excusion is to take a cab to Perast about 20 minutes away to visit Our Lady of the Rocks. You will be greeted by many cab drivers when you leave the ship. Tell then you want to be driven there and have him wait for you (about 1 1/2-2 hours) so he can drive you back to the ship. You will probably be quoted 50 euros...too much...start bargaining, we got it for 30 euros and tipped the fellow 10.

It was a fun and interesting day. Our Lady of the Rocks is beautiful chapel on a small island with it's own museum, you have to take a small boat to visit ( I think we paid 5 euros roundtrip), beautiful scenery too!

Do a Google search about it and you'll be impressed!

Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of doing a couple of private tours with Condocat while on the Riviera's MV this past May. Anything she recommends can be counted on as excellent advice.

As an alternative to Condocat's suggestion, you can easily tour the walled city of Kotor. Again, no driver or tour guide is needed. Hiking to the top of the fortress town is also very worthwhile. Fairly strenuous hike. The downhill part is actually more challenging for many because the stonework is so slick.

Another vote to combine Kotor with Perast and Our Lady of the Rocks. :D

We booked a local guide through:

because we wanted our tour of the "Montenegrin Fjord" to be from sea level, rather than through a bus window, and it was superb!

Tranquil, unspoiled, historic, scenic, just everything that you could want in a port of call...

Hi

you probably don't need a driver in Kotor unless you wish to visit other places.

It is a very lovely little village with some nice shops and plenty of places to eat. It is very easy to walk around.

I do envy you your sail out of there it it so beautiful

regards:)
