Caribbean Princess Self Serve Laundry??

MSEm

Recommended Posts

I need information on the Caribbean Princess Self Serve Laundry. I will be attending a convention in Orlando before boarding the ship on Saturday, June 11 and plan to bring only 1 week of clothing. Does Princess furnish detergent, fabric softener? What is cost of washing and drying? I plan on doing laundry the day a board the ship. Thanks for the help. MSEm PS Any recommendation on tour guide for St Thomas and/or St Martin?

The Caribbean Princess laundry facilities are good. They do sell laundry soap, didn't notice if they offer fabric softerner. The cost was a dollar for washing and a dollar for drying. The room was clean and had several machines, plus full size ironing boards and irons. There were several laundry rooms on every level so we had no problems with busy machines.

Hey MSEm ! I see from your post that you will be sailing on the Caribbean Princess the week that we are going. We will not have been to a convention prior, but are planning to wash clothes 1 time while on board. Have never sailed Princess, but have always used the laundry facilities on Carnival without a problem. PattyV's description seems to be the norm on board. Not sure about the quarters/dollar bill thing though..... my memory isn't what it used to be :( .

There's a roll call thread on the roll call forum for our sailing week if you'd like to join in. I believe it is listed as Caribbean Princess 6/11/2005 and kulekhatt started the thread. We'd love to hear from you !

Thank you PattyV. Do you use $1 bill or quarters in the machines. Hopefully I will only need to do 2 loads.

There are change machines in the laundry rooms so you do not have to worry about quarters.

We did the Godfrey tour on St. Thomas as well and liked it. You are picked up from the ship, brought to town for 2 - 3 hours of shopping/lunch, 2 hour guided tour, then 2 hours on the beach.

We had signed up to go with Joyce Prince on St. Maartin, but we ended up having to cancel due to illness.

Info on both Godfrey and Joyce can be found on the destination boards.

Have a great time!!

Alice
