Heathrow to Dover

are based at the Dover end & have been recommended by cruisers on this forum.

They're likely to be cheaper than airport-based businesses, of which there are very very many - some good, some OK, some not-so-good.

Best to steer clear of agencies which offer services from all airports country-wide. They're middle-men, seeking out the cheapest to improve their cut, with no control over the quality & they're an unneccessary extra link in the chain for mis-communication.

I used Folkstone Taxi, based on JB's recommendation. Our driver was very good and very professional, even though our flight was delayed and we were 1.5 hours late.

However, then we encountered the M25 car park! It took us four hours to get to Dover!

Make sure you arrive the day before the cruise, in case this happens to you. I was told by Brits on the ship that they encountered another problem on the way to Dover on embarkation day but they stopped for a bit and, by the time they got going again, the problem had cleared.

Our return trip to Heathrow took only 1.5 hours!

We used Smiths for Airports based in Portsmouth. They took us from Southampton to Heathrow. Good price and wonderful driver!

Hi, Molly.

Smiths (and West Quay) being based at the Southampton end, they're likely to decline or be uncompetetive for Heathrow to Dover, because it's out of their patch

You might want to think about using the train. They run frequently. Here is a good site for info about transportation to Dover. It also has a good map showing you location of the train station and the cruise ports.

And for rail info use

Also look at Rick Steve's web site for info.
