pre-cruise hotel

I usually recommend the Embassy Suite for one night.

If you are staying for additional nights and want say the beach there are many other options but for one day I think the Embassy is a great choice.

Popular decent cruise hotels are Embassy Suites and Renaissance on SE 17th St., as they are nice and very close to the port. Hyatt Pier 66 and Hilton Marina are also nice (they are waterfront, across the bridge from the port) but check TripAdvisor for recent reviews and suggestions on which buildings to reserve. Let us know if you prefer beach hotel recommendations.

We have stayed @ the Renaissance on 17th and it was perfect.

we are looking for a hotel for the night before our Ruby cruise on October 28th - every hotel I've looked at is booked already :( (Renaissance, Hyatt....). Any suggestions for something a bit further away, with a shuttle service?!!!!

October 28th is Boat Show weekend in Fort Lauderdale. Look at the hotels by Stirling Rd and I-95 and if that doesn't pan out, look at the Hampton Inn and LaQuinta in Plantation (make sure that they still offer the free airport/cruiseport shuttles).

Look at the Sheraton Beach or Bahia Mar. Both are beach hotels and close to the port. Lago Mar is gorgeous and nearby too but on the expensive side...more than "decent" price wise. ;)

Rates always depend on the date you need. The Sheraton and Bahia Mar can be often found on the discount sites.

The Embassy S and Renaissance are on 17th St ( a very busy street conveninet to the port, restuarants and last min. shopping) and not on or very close to the beach.

Most of the Fort Lauderdale beach hotels are close to the terminal. Marriott Harbor Beach and Lago Mar are the nicest resorts that are right on the beach and they are very close to the terminal. Bahia Mar is across from the beach and usually has the best rates. It is a Doubletree so use your Hilton Hhonors number on hiltonfamilymvp.com for great prices.
