l8cruiser Posted July 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 6, 2012 I only drink if I am by myself or with somebody. So if that happens on our cruise, I will get a drink from the bar. What drink do you get the most bang for the buck? Is it a bucket of beer, pitcher of beer, dod, short glass or tall glass. What drink is the best value. I know mixing your own back in your cabin is the cheapest. I may want something different from a bar. I only drink on days that end in "y". I will never drink tomorrow. Just make friends with a bartender and ask them what drink is the most bang for the buck. Have a great cruise. Shipbound Posted July 6, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 6, 2012 I think if you like beer the best bang for your buck would be Foster lager it is about 7.50 dollars for a 750ml can(2.5 glasses) Gary

Jules7226 Posted July 6, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 6, 2012 The Tiramisu martini is a pretty good bang for your buck. It has 7 different alcohols in it and is very tasty, especially after dinner. :)

Thanks Sent from my SCH-I400 using Tapatalk Pitchers figure out to a pretty good deal about $3 or so a beer , but thats a lot of beer for one person before it gets warm. Works better if there is a few of you trading off buying.

kcparrothead Posted July 6, 2012 #15 Share Posted July 6, 2012 I think the Cosmos or martinis are the best "bang!" On our Freedom cruise a couple weeks ago, each night at the casino bar the offered $1.00 off their featured drinks. The offerings were: martinis, cosmos, mojitos, sangria..... Jimmy Geegitz Posted July 6, 2012 #17 Share Posted July 6, 2012 If you figure cost per ounce. Fosters is the best deal. I order a 12 pack from bon voyage before the cruise and it saves you another buck a can because there is no tip.
Texarribean Chick Posted July 6, 2012 #18 Share Posted July 6, 2012 If you are looking for the MOST drink for your money - I would also recommend the Martini tasting. $15.00 (or so) per person and should get you well on your way!
Shipbound Posted July 7, 2012 #19 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Was wondering what alcohol % is the fosters? Canadian here wondering also what beer it compares to for canadian beers? Thanks Their web site says 4.9% abv, I thought it was higher, as far as canadian beers go I think it tastes like bador(sp) which is 6.2 % I think
tiff123 Posted July 7, 2012 #20 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Stick with beer or wine. Seems like they get away with serving DOD's that have no rum, tequila, vodka, etc. in it. EXCEPT for the drinks served at the past guest parties - those took me for surprise - was not expecting drinks that suddenly had alcohol in them, especially free drinks. I figure I'll save money the next cruise by just purchasing a bottle of rum from Bon Voyage.
larkz Posted July 7, 2012 #21 Share Posted July 7, 2012 Not rubbing it in, but when I see what you pay for drinks on a cruise, I'm glad I quit when I was a teenager! I'm tempted to rig up a distillery in my cabin and go into business with a cruise bootlegging business.

alabamaprincess Posted August 19, 2012 #23 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Any of the DOD's are a good bang for the buck. The Funship Special or Yellow Bird. Also in the morning they have screwdrivers, mimosas and bloody mary's for a really good price. If you want the bartender will mix you a double for a little bit more. I went to this on the Glory and was very dissappointed. The bartender told me that almost all of the martinis were made with sugar syrup and were very sweet, including the one made with pepper vodka! I'll take a regular cosmo straight up anytime compared to the vodka tasting martinis an have found that if you have a good bartender, they are pretty strong~~~
