Just back from Serenade of the Seas Med cruise. If you're interested in going to the beach in Cannes, here's info on the municipal beach. From the tender dock, walk to the main street and take a right. You'll wind around a marina and past a lovely park. You'll pass a large hotel (Majestic Barriera?) with its beach area. Keep walking along the boulevard de la Croisette. Look for Plage Mace - blue and yellow umbrellas. Or, if you want to walk to the end of la Croisette, look for Plage Zamenhoff. The beach areas are open 8:30 - 6:30. You can rent chairs and umbrellas for 1/2 day (8:30 - 1:30 or 1:30 - 6:30 or full day. Cost for 2 people (2 deck chairs, 1 umbrella, 1 table - restrooms and showers available - lockers extra) was 11.10 euro for the 1/2 day and 20.10 euro for the full day. In August, it may be more difficult to find a place since evidently many French hit Cannes for their vacations.

We have often posted about the Plage du Midi which is located about a 5 min walk from the tender pier. If you had simply walked towards the left (keeping the water on your left) you would have found a fine free sandy beach only a few minutes stroll from the pier.

Thank you for this information. It is always great to have options. Some people seem to feel there is only one way to do things. I really appreciate the information about the cost for chairs and a table.
