Has anyone heard about this or is anyone on this cruise?

I guess RSVP supposedly kicked some gay porn stars off a RSVP charter in Tunisia which RSVP had invited to mingle with the guests. I didn't see a thread already started on this subject.

The 2011 RSVP Med cruise began with a bevy of Bel Ami boys cavorting about. They were kicked off after a day or so because, as it turned out, they took the opportunity to film their activities for an upcoming DVD release. So, there were pix of other passengers pool side, etc. who were "extras" being filmed for a porn release without their approval! The boys were gorgeous, but they definitely overstayed their welcome. :-o

I do not think RSVP "invited" them on the cruise to mingle with the other passengers. I think they just booked their group via a travel agent as so many other passengers do. They just took advantage of the cruise as a film shoot set.

  • 2 weeks later...

 OMG, oh my Gawd you guys! LOL

I knew the Gay cruises charged a premium because they bring on special entertainment but never inagined that it was THAT kind of entertainment? Hummmm... since the internet connections in the cabins are usually so slow I suppose the live show is another way to go but honestly, I think I'd rather just read 50 Shades of Gay and skip the cameras.

Unfortunately, it's exactly this kind of stuff that makes a lot of people not want to go on a gay cruise. It's one thing to have the chance to meet like minded people but putting it ALL out there is really just tasteless. I am not a prude but it's a long swim if you feel uncomfortable because of what's going on in front of you. I really don't believe RSVP invited or hired these guys onto the ship. There are pleanty of hotties floating around for free. I'm just glad they all miss their parents so much, or at least I think that's why they so many of them call me "Daddy"!

LOL

Have a great day and happy Cruising.

They filed a civil action and this has returned to the press -- as much as it has -- due to the company filing a statement of claim. And in all civil cases, this is clearly just ONE side of the story. Wait for the rest.

In what court was the filing? Can't imagine the jurisdictional issues with a US Charter company, a Dutch ship company (is that where HAL is HQ'd?), and a North African situs (if that's where they were forced to leave the ship). Expect Bel Ami is looking for a quick settlement to make it go away, but Rich is not one to take financial threats too seriously. Wonder which side has the deeper pocket?

Note to Self: Don't stay up nights worrying about this. Have a cocktail, instead.

Re-read the OP's post with attached article and see that the law suit is filed in CA - HQ for Atlantis Events, the owner of RSVP. No reference to whether it's state or federal court.

I still find it difficult to believe RSVP hired Bel Ami to "mix and mingle" with guests. As another Poster said, there's enough < 30 guys in good shape to keep the eye candy fresh on RSVP cruises. We'll see if Bel Ami has the requisite contractual evidence to support its claim in a CA court.

I'm sure we'll hear more on this.

The civil lawsuit was filed in the State of California and the filing is of public record. I got a link to the filing and read the case a while ago via one of the gay presses. About five of the Bel Ami boys are named in the suit. From what I gathered RSVP offered Bel Ami boys and their production staff some free cabin in exchange for them to mix and mingle and show up at parties. It doesn't sound like some regular paid gig like other entertainers of RSVP Charters. I guess there was some sort of agreement that Bel Ami production staff could film a "documentary" (non-sexual) with the boys but couldn't use anything with HAL nor paying guest. At some point RSVP decided to kick them off in Tunisia. Of course the law suit doesn't mention why. The law suit described how the boys and staff were dumped off in war torn Tunisia with no way to get home, etc,. The humiliation they had to endured, finding flights back to their home country.....blah blah blah. However, this was a regular stop for the RSVP passengers who went on tours in Tunisia, etc. Bel Ami is demanding a jury trial and punitive damages, etc. However, we simply don't have RSVP side the story. I can't believe RSVP would have just kick them off for some serious reason or incident. There is always two sides to every story and anyone can sue anyone if they they legal standing to do so whether you win is a whole other story. Most of these cases are settled out of court and we probably won't hear the outcome.

So there were Bel Ami actors onboard with a film crew... surely there was somebody from Bel Ami in charge of their activities and who could handle any issues such as arranging their accommodations after being put off the ship and transportation back home.

In 2007 there were two porn actors on the Caribbean Princess; not sure what the arrangement was but they mingled, showed up at the parties, acted as go go boys and I believe they shot some photos for an underwear ad campaign.

I have not seen a repeat of porn actors onboard it since then until I read about this.

I spoke to a friend who was on the cruise and who always gets the spa pass. He was unaware of any of this but he did mention there were a few drop dead gorgeous guys in the spa at the beginning of cruise and suddenly they disappeared.

My guess is someone from Atlantis wanted some eye candy onboard, offered them a sweet deal to go. Bel Ami took it a step further that to mean they could getaway with filming . Then add alcohol and our drugs in and it got out of hand (go figure), and ships crew wanted them off the vessel.

Be interesting to be a juror on that case.

I read the comments on the link and one person wrote that they were shooting a full-on porno in the Hydrotherapy Pool. Other rumors were that they were prostituting themselves and charging drinks to other patrons rooms or drugs.

They obviously did something bad to be kicked off at a port and a country like that should not even be a port on a gay cruise.
