Alibobs Posted July 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 14, 2012 I am sure one of you will be able to tell me what, if anything, the "N"signifies on this voyage? On the Cunard FAQ pagee about the dress code it is showing as M229 with a different itinerary and voyage length. I am assuming it may be just as simple as the itinerary having changed and Cunard not updating their information online. I have only just disembarked the QM2 following a transatlantic crossing - we had already decided we would try and catch some sun in the Canaries later this year not even considering that the QM2 would be heading that way. That, coupled with some great deals at the moment leaves us sorely tempted!
bluemarble Posted July 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2012 Yes, I believe the "N" suffix is simply indicative of a schedule change. The original 2012 voyage schedule had QM2 doing a 16 day "Mediterranean Gems" voyage from 04 Nov to 20 Nov 2012 with was designated voyage M229. The itinerary for that voyage is what is shown in the dress code document in Cunard's FAQ pages. Now QM2 is doing two separate voyages during that time period, a 12 day "Canary Islands Idyll" voyage from 04 Nov to 16 Nov 2012 which is designated voyage M229N, followed by a 4 day "Autumn Escape" voyage from 16 Nov to 20 Nov 2012 which is designated voyage M229P. Jason12 Posted July 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2012 Jason, we are similarly addicted! yes were addicted, thinking of cancelling our Navigator Cruise to take the QM2, we were a bit concerned before we went on the QM2 with it being quite formal but it was so relaxing and everyone was very friendly. Alibobs Posted July 15, 2012 Author #7 Share Posted July 15, 2012 We too found the QM2 very friendly. I imagine that doing the Canaries in November from Southampton to Southampton will attract a different clientele from the transatlantic but that's not to say it will be any less enjoyable. Our main reason for taking the trip will be for relaxation and hopefully a little bit of sunshine here and there.

Jason12 Posted July 17, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 17, 2012 Hope you haven't bagged the last B5! Nope not me, had to settle on a D6 wheelchair accessible cabin which is lucky as all the accessible cabins tend to sell out very fast...
