Transportation from Austin to Galveston?

I have friends comming in from Tampa but can not fly into HOB or Bush - anyone know how they can get to the port from Austin?

Don't really understand your question.

If they can't fly to Houston, then their only choice is to drive from Austin to Galveston.

What has San Antonio or Corpus Christi have to do with the problem?

It would be the same form of transportation - drive.

Seems silly to rent a car for a week to park it at the pier. Was wondering if there were other transportaton options from other cities.

unless the definite plans are to go to Austin first.

Greyhound has a posted schedule of 2 buses - 7:55 am and 5:55 pm from Houston to Galveston. The fare is $16.85. There is no bus station in Galveston. It stops at a convenience store. You would have to get a taxi to the port.

 

I just can't imagine anyone taking a bus. Yuck

All resolved! I am in Dallas flying down with 5 others. We had 2 last minute friends that could not get a flight from Tampa to Houston...they were going to fly into Austin and grab a rental and drive to Austin but found not find a rental return place in Galveston! They found a flight out of Miami! I appreciate the help!

FYI unless it has changed, there is Enterprise

that will NOW

allow drop off on Saturday aft/Sunday

though closed.

This is in reference to riding a bus. We have done it often and enjoyed it. We are looking for the Greyhound to Galveston for November trip.
