magsintx Posted July 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2012 I have friends comming in from Tampa but can not fly into HOB or Bush - anyone know how they can get to the port from Austin?
magsintx Posted July 16, 2012 Author #2 Share Posted July 16, 2012 San Antonio or Corpus Christi are also options...Help! :-)
Galveston Cruiser Posted July 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 16, 2012 Don't really understand your question. If they can't fly to Houston, then their only choice is to drive from Austin to Galveston. What has San Antonio or Corpus Christi have to do with the problem? It would be the same form of transportation - drive.
magsintx Posted July 16, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted July 16, 2012 Seems silly to rent a car for a week to park it at the pier. Was wondering if there were other transportaton options from other cities.

ssb Posted July 16, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 16, 2012 I have friends comming in from Tampa but can not fly into HOB or Bush - anyone know how they can get to the port from Austin? Since you must live in Austin Meet them in Galveston . Southwest Airlines flys from Tampa to Houston Hobby unless the definite plans are to go to Austin first. How many are there? Explain the group and plans.
Galveston Cruiser Posted July 16, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2012 Greyhound has a posted schedule of 2 buses - 7:55 am and 5:55 pm from Houston to Galveston. The fare is $16.85. There is no bus station in Galveston. It stops at a convenience store. You would have to get a taxi to the port. I just can't imagine anyone taking a bus. Yuck
