Getting off the ship

Does anyone know if you can leave the ship early when you arrive back in port? I know when we sailed on Royal Caribbean if you left before 7 you could carry your own luggage off and not have to wait for customs. Does the Sensation do that as well? Trying to figure out flights back home. We will be renting a car at Orlando and driving over so waiting for a shuttle won't be a problem. Any suggestions anyone?

Yes, Carnival also has express debarkation

Yes you can. Carnival calls it 'Self-Assist Debarkation'. it is before everyone else. just carry your luggage with you.

Our self Debark from Ecstacy was at the same time as Zone 8 -- while our assisted Debark would have been with zone 17.

 

So it's not exactly before anyone else, but it is sooner than assisted.

Self assist is done by deck, starting at the top and working down.

 

But no one gets off the ship until it's cleared by customs.

Cruise line loves it as they get people off faster and they have less luggage to deal with.
