Help! Upgrade call JS --> PH

Hopefully this has happened to someone and can help!

Today I received a call from Carnival for an upgrade during my cruise on Imagination in a couple weeks. We were originally booked in a Junior Suite and was offered the Owners Suite for an additional price.

We accepted the offer and the lady explained that it would show up as a Grand Suite on the booking and said she was going to send me all the new luggage tags, and also an acknowledgement about the room. Tags came in for the new room number and acknowledgment said Owners Suite.

NOW, I go to check in online, and it shows I have a Grand Suite, and the stateroom is 'to be assigned.' I called the 800 number to see if this would be a problem checking in and they do not have any records that I will be in the Owners Suite and that I will be in a Grand Suite. I spoke with a supervisor and all they said was to contact the woman who helped me earlier, and she doesn't get in until 11 am tomorrow.

Please tell me that this happened to someone else and I have nothing to worry about, haha. From going to being the happiest guy in the world with this suite, it just went downhill lol. I will cause all hell tomorrow if this was some kind of scam.

Do not worry....we were booked in a grand suite on the Ecstasy in April and got the call 3 weeks before sailing... we were upgraded to the owners suite for more money of course and we took it... I too was concerned because no one else at Carnival new about it - just the person who called with the up grade.. The regular reps cannot see it on line...but believe me just call the person who offered you the upgrade and explain your concerns...I did and it all worked out ....we were treated like royality from the minute we showed up in the terminal until we left the ship....You will love it - congratulations on the up grade. If you have any other questions...just ask..

Thanks, Jane! I appreciate you responding! I understand that were are no other perks with junior and grand suites other then embarkation and disembarkation but with the Owners suite, are there any others?

I would be careful of that advice as I'm beginning to see a trend here. This happened to me personally and multiple others that I've read on here. It seems that they tell you it's an up grade ( in our case ) to a grand suite and in fact were assigned to an ocean suite. I called back and they basically said " oops we made a mistake it is only an ocean suite". I at first thought honest mistake until I read multiple people with the exact same experience. Beware, take names!

Yes... When you check in they immediately take you to the front of the line and escort you onto the ship and to your room....no waiting until 1:30, room service is also very quick for you...you are considered priority..also priority getting off the ship...you will love it - as soon as the workers on board know that you are in that room - they can't do enough for you - it's amazing!

And i'm thinking, they cannot possibly charge us an additional $750 to be upgraded from a Junior Suite to a Grand suite when those values are only like 50-100 extra per person. That would be horrible lol

I agree you should get the name and direct telephone number of the carnival rep who called you...I did and called him several times before we sailed, he was very helpful and understanding about my concerns. I know when you speak to your rep they will explain the process fully...just ask!

Okay great. Yes I have the rep's name and number. I will call tomorrow but was just anxious about this whole thing. You would think a supervisor would know stuff like that and tell me not to worry.

I don't think they realize all our concerns when they are offering that upgrade, and I was so excited to get it I didn't ask all the right questions. But the next day everything was clear and we had a great cruise...I know you will too...have fun!

We just got off of the Imagination last week and we were upsold to the Owners suite "PH1" and it did state TBA for our cabin number. This was the 3rd time that we were offered this. They have to put TBA on the cabin number because the 2 Owners suites are not in the inventory. The only problem we had was that our S&S card did not work when we boarded so the had to re issue them a couple of times. But it was a great room.

Thank you guys! I wish it were here tomorrow. Going to be a LONG 9 days!

Jarrett- We are going on a 3 night cruise.

I actually have a question that i'm a bit confused about, though. (but i'm not complaining lol) You would think they would try to upsell someone from a Grand Suite to a Owners suite, than someone from a Juniors suite that now empty Grand suite, right?

Could it be every Grand suite was asked and they all declined? Or are we just lucky??
