clarkspond75 Posted July 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Just wondering if school will be out on Dec 8TH. Should I expect lots of kids on the Dec 8th, Breeze cruise?

Jbird81 Posted July 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Not off in Canada either during this time; around the 20th I think is when schools begin to get let out.
Crazy4Koko Posted July 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2012 College kids, maybe? I know little ones aren't out until just before Xmas and are out usually till New Years.
BigDfromTN Posted July 18, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Not in TN either. If so we could do more December cruises as DW and DD both work at the local schools.:(
sailing_under_the_stars Posted July 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 18, 2012 You should be fine.. College kids get out for the semester around the middle of the month, and elementary, middle, and High schools don't get out until the week before Christmas... wiskt Posted July 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 18, 2012 yes its a Saturday. However I usually cruise the first week in Dec and its great because most kds are just coming back from Thanksgiving break. Always find the week after a holiday is less kids. mrpayroll Posted July 18, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 18, 2012 In Michigan they are still in school at that time. :)
Rottweiler Puppy Posted July 18, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Just wondering if school will be out on Dec 8TH. Should I expect lots of kids on the Dec 8th, Breeze cruise? Most kids will probably be in school.
crusinfamof4 Posted July 18, 2012 #10 Share Posted July 18, 2012 Not in VA. Hoping schools are out the first week in Nov though like they are here, since we will have our two DS's with us. They are closed Nov 5 & 6 for the election, so they will end up missing 3 days. I believe Dec 8th you should be set.
wrigley80 Posted July 18, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 18, 2012 We were on the Legend last year during that same week and going this year on a back-to-back during that time. They are very few kids. On the Legend last year you hardly ever saw any kids. It was so nice :D
packedandready Posted July 19, 2012 #12 Share Posted July 19, 2012 We cruised RCCL out of Galveston (close to home) Dec 11th. There were A TON of kids on that cruise!!!!! Not college age, high school and below.
Dwiegand84 Posted July 19, 2012 #13 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Not sure where the Breeze will be leaving from then, but I just looked at the school calendar for our school district here in FL and the kids are out from Dec 22 to Jan 7 this year. That is about a week later than normal for us.
cruisealot Posted July 19, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Shouldn't be many kids on board unless their parents pull them out of school for a week just before the Christmas break. My wife and I did this with our daughter last year but she was in pre-school so we don't feel like she missed a lot! We would never do this after she starts regular school, meaning first grade. agc291 Posted July 19, 2012 #15 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Schools are not out here until the 22ish depending on the day of the week. The last couple of years it seems to be later and later.
mimgan3 Posted July 19, 2012 #16 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Just wondering if school will be out on Dec 8TH. Should I expect lots of kids on the Dec 8th, Breeze cruise? Most colleges here in North Carolina are still having exams until about the 10th, some are already out, but I would say the 15th cruise would probably have more students. Enjoy, Mimgan
Kimmie36 Posted July 19, 2012 #17 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Here in Ga. Kids will be in till the 20th something.I am looking 2 book a cruise this December will we get some good deals at that time? marvholly Posted July 19, 2012 #20 Share Posted July 19, 2012 I am in IL, metro Chicago. Looking at the calendar I believe the last day of grade/high school here will be 12/21. However, I also believe most colleges either will be out or will get out on 12/7.
Chigirlcruzin Posted July 19, 2012 #21 Share Posted July 19, 2012 December is generally light on kids, except for Christmas and New Year's sailings. I did a NYE cruise last year...never again. WAY too crowded. Kids were well behaved; just too many people on board.
RuthlessBoss Posted July 19, 2012 #22 Share Posted July 19, 2012 I doubt many families with kids are travelling those first 2 weeks of Dec. Just look at lower prices, there must be a reason. Prices dart up high with typical school vacations.
