SueG Posted July 30, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Does anyone know if the fish & chips restaurant on Glory is self serve or do you have to order what you want? Thanks The last time I was on the Glory you had to order it from the server. Most of the food sat behind a glassed in buffet unit. Some food was self serve. markntara Posted July 30, 2012 #3 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Some of the food was self serve. The actual Fish & Chips was handed to us fresh from the fryer, hot and tasty! Enjoy!
NCTribeFan Posted July 30, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 30, 2012 It was all behind the counter on both my Glory cruises. You just tell them what you'd like. Condiments available at the end of the line. I'd get my Red Frog beer down at the lobby bar, make my way to the upper Lido dining area, get my appetizers and F&C, douse it in malt vinegar, and have a great lunch. By about mid-way through my cruise to Bermuda last October, I was totally addicted to the tuna and watermelon appetizer. Sounds like and is a strange taste combination, but it is just delicious. golfadj Posted July 30, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Stopped have the fish and chips a while ago as it was always greasy. Wonder how it is now.
SkyMaster Posted July 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Yep, IMO it's "hit and miss". Sometimes it's GREAT, and other times it'll be dripping with grease. When it's good, it's very very good however. :) "SKY"
kr8z Posted July 30, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Definitely hit or miss. We were on the Glory a few months ago and some days it was good, others not so great. We go on the Freedom soon and I believe they have the fish and chips too. I'm certainly willing to give it another shot :)
golfb4cruzing Posted July 30, 2012 #8 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Cafeteria style. Walk down the line and let the servers know and it appears. Found this venue half way thru our cruise and ate lunch there every day after. I wish they had on every ship.
cruisecrazy82 Posted July 30, 2012 #9 Share Posted July 30, 2012 You just walk up and tell em what you want, when we were on the Glory it was always delish. The trick is to get there as soon as they open;)

NCTribeFan Posted July 30, 2012 #11 Share Posted July 30, 2012 If it isn't greasy, it isn't really Fish & Chips! :p Surely some of you have been to England and had F&C? And the chips have to get such a liberal application of malt vinegar that they just about disintegrate. Yum! Agree that it needs to be hot and fresh, though. Greasy,,,yes,,,but absolutely dripping in grease,,,,,I don't think so! (Yep, I've had F&C in England, from the street vendors, wrapped in newspaper, but it wasn't as greasy as it SOMETIMES is aboard the Conquest Class Ships.) "SKY"
LisaT12 Posted July 30, 2012 #14 Share Posted July 30, 2012 YUMMY!!!!! It is above the Lido deck. There is rarely a crowd. Just order from the guy behind the serving area. YUMMY!!!!
