"Checking" carryon luggage

I "think" I remember on the Sky that when we boarded, we could leave our carry-on luggage and get a claim ticket to pick it up later.

 

Do I have this right, that NCL does this?

Is it done on the Pearl?

Yes each ship will have a location, usually a closed bar/restaurant that will be staffed so you can check your carry on luggage until the rooms are ready.

 

I had that both on the Jewel and the Gem.

I have seen it done on all of the NCL ships we've been on, but I've never actually done it. The locations we've most often known them to set this up is in the game room (if the ship has one) or even the library. But we've also seen it in a lounge before. (And there was always at least one crew member watching carefully, so no worries about theft.)

Our first cruise we took we forgot to "check" any luggage, we were informed we can have them checked in the Casino. Our room numbers were put on the bags and we enjoyed the ship until rooms were ready (4 hours later) at which point we came back and just collected our bags. Worked pretty easily, just need to find out where they have set up for the bags.:cool:

On the Pearl, there was a room just to the right after boarding the ship. It worked great.

We've always gone to our room (even if not ready yet), found our steward and left our carry ons in the room. Never had a problem.

We have done the same thing. We have never had a problem.
