Christmas on the Crown

Our family (including 3yo granddaughter) will be on the Crown for the week of Christmas this year. On Christmas Day, the ship will be in Roatan. We would like to do an excursion, as there are only 3 port days on this cruise, but don't want to miss all the Christmas festivities, such as Santa, etc. Does anyone know what that day is like? Do they postpone events till people are back from tours and all? Or will we miss most of it? Torn between a tour and staying onboard. Any thoughts, experiences?

Thanks!

Go on a tour, enjoy your day in Roatan. Nothing happens on the ship while in port. Any festivities will take place after the ship leaves port.

On the Emerald last year, we were in Aruba. They had a kids' fest in the Piazza all afternoon, with tables set up, one for each activity (i.e. face painting, design a button, decorate a cookie, etc). Then, in the Explorers Lounge about 4pm, they had a gingerbread decoration contest (free, very nice). Santa appeared in the Piazza right after that. All of these activities happened while the ship was still docked, although Santa was scheduled for after passengers had to be on board.
