EAGLESLOVER Posted August 6, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 6, 2012 We will have a day in Monaco before embarking on our cruise in November. Looking for a nice place to have dinner which won't break the bank. Advance thanks to all.:):)
wristband Posted August 6, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 6, 2012 Joel Robuchon's restaurant, up the hill from the port, across from casino square in the lovely Hotel Metropole. Superb, innovative cuisine that has earned multiple Michelin stars. The guy is a genius and has something like 15 restaurants worldwide. There is a fixed price menu which is very reasonable. Dining room is beautiful, service excellent but unobtrusive and not stuffy. Having eaten there several times, there is absolutely no problem if you speak no French and might be timid coming off a cruise ship. The staff is happy to have you and are pleased to accomodate your needs. Alain Ducasse also has a famous (and excellent) restaurant in Monaco but its far more expensive. laurieb Posted August 7, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Is it a dress-up place? Is a jacket required for men?
Honeymoon sailors Posted August 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Henri Geraci restaurant is set in the back street of Old Monaco and it's a very small restaurant (18 seats). Prices are reasonable, 3 courses starting from 41euro. You don't need to get all dressed up as they are used to tourists. wristband Posted August 31, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Robuchon is not dressy. Dress nicely - not smartly in bowtie and tux.
EAGLESLOVER Posted September 11, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted September 11, 2012 Have made a reservation at Adagio Restaurant. Looks very nice and not as expensive as some suggestions. Will post about our experience when we return.
