Texas Question

Hobby airport is in the south part of Houston and Bush airport is in the north part of Houston... therefore it's a much shorter ride from Hobby to Galveston than it is from Bush to Galveston.

However, Bush seems to be a much busier airport with many more flight choices... so you may find more convenient times for flights to and from Bush.

Try for Hobby... it will be cheaper and quicker to get to and from Galveston from there... but if you can't make it work from Hobby, it's not the end of the world if you fly in and out of Bush.

If you go to Google Maps and look at Houston, you can see the situation for yourself.

I agree with the other posters...Houston Hobby is closer but less flights. Took us about an hour from Houston to Galveston when we drove. I am not sure the best way to get from the airport to Galveston since it is a bit of a drive. I would check shuttles as well as a one way rental (maybe they have somethink like Orlando to Port Canaveral - not sure.) Depends on how many people you have too - if just two, and a shuttle is per person, that might be the way to go, but if you have more, a car may be better, or even a car service.

Houston air port and the port is about an hour a way by the shuttle:cool:

Which houston airport???

Bush or IAH is about an hr with no traffic or

Hobby or HOU is about 40 min.

If you want to fly Southwest than must fly inoto Hobby(hou)

If you fly United, Delta, Us Airways or other major carriers than u need to fly into Bush(iah)

Also you will get alot of answers here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=414

BTW cruises tend to be more expensive from Galveston.
