mn2ga Posted August 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2012 We have signed up for a cruise that includes the Norwegian:confused: Sea going from Copenhagen to Iceland. Has anyone experienced the Norwegian Sea? If so, what about the turbulence of that sea?

aquilegia Posted August 11, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 11, 2012 The Norwegian Sea is just the name for the part of the North Atlantic ocean between north Norway and Greenland. Can't help about the state of the seas though.
dsrdsrdsr Posted August 12, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2012 The Norwegian Sea is just part of the North Atlantic, and I've never heard of any likelihood of different conditions from the rest of the ocean. I don't think there's any particular depth changes that might cause problems. As for conditions, that depends on the weather, they're variable. It basically depends on the wind, and for a reliable forecast, wait until the day before. Might be flat calm, and is unlikely to resemble the Southern Ocean.
