Lorabelle Posted August 11, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2012 We're thinking about finding a nice hotel on the beach in one or more of our ports that offers a day use package...use of their pool, beach, possibly a cabana, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? We're on the Golden 14 day R/T Los Angeles. Ports are Lahaina, Nawiliwili, Honolulu and Hilo.
CruiserBruce Posted August 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 12, 2012 If you look down the board, this question is asked regularly. Answer: All beaches in Hawaii are public beaches, and have free public access. Unlike other areas, none that I know of (and we have been to Hawaii over 20 times, on all islands) have rentals to the public of cabanas, chairs, umbrellas or that sort of thing. Yes, you may find some services- the west end of Waikiki is an example, but that is the exception, not the rule. The resorts are required to keep their operations away from the "public" beach. They are two separate things, unlike other parts of the world.
