jerseyteacher Posted August 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 14, 2012 Is there an inexpensive way to swim with the turtles? Don't really care about the rum punch and lunch on many of the tours...and can't afford the $92 price range...HELP
Herfnerd Posted August 14, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2012 Head to one of the beaches on Carlisle Bay (Lobster Alive, The Boatyard, etc) and you should find boats willing to take you out to swim with the turtles for something like ~$25pp...... centralcalicruzer Posted August 14, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 14, 2012 I don't know what cruise line you will be on, but Princess had a shorter excursion that did not include lunch (yes to the rum punch though!) and it was only $49.00. It was 3-4 hours, plenty of time to sail and snorkel with the turtles. It may have been more crowded than the private excursions, but I felt that it was a good deal for the money. I know that some people are successful just going to the beach and hiring a boat, but my daughter and step daughter tried to do that in February after a mix up with their ship excursion and the guys running The Boatyard (stepdaughter is on staff with Princess so went there all the time) discouraged them (two young women alone) from going out with any of the guys that were on the beach that day. It's all a matter of what you are comfortable with and whether you want to take a chance or have a guaranteed excursion.
