Swimming with the turtles

I don't know what cruise line you will be on, but Princess had a shorter excursion that did not include lunch (yes to the rum punch though!) and it was only $49.00. It was 3-4 hours, plenty of time to sail and snorkel with the turtles. It may have been more crowded than the private excursions, but I felt that it was a good deal for the money. I know that some people are successful just going to the beach and hiring a boat, but my daughter and step daughter tried to do that in February after a mix up with their ship excursion and the guys running The Boatyard (stepdaughter is on staff with Princess so went there all the time) discouraged them (two young women alone) from going out with any of the guys that were on the beach that day. It's all a matter of what you are comfortable with and whether you want to take a chance or have a guaranteed excursion.
