Cook Islands and Moorea

We went last May and loved the TP. We are going back April 2006. We did the scoot cars and snorkeled in the Cook Islands. WE did the helmet dive in Moorea.

Any of you have a good suggestion of something else to do in these ports?

There was a Stephanie tours that we saw a lot. Has anyone done her tour inMoorea and if so what did it include? We don't want a ton of people going with us. We have 20 in our group and would like to keep it a private type thing.

Any suggestions of hotels in the Cook Islands that allows cruise passengers or a tour group that does motu picnics?

Thanks

my only suggestion, if you don't want tons of people on your Moorea tour is don't book with Albert tours. our boat had way too many people on it this second time we went with them. we won't book with them next time. if you want just to snorkel, you might think about renting a car or taking a cab to the Sofitel.

Hi

For Moorea, contact Myriam at Moorea Transport, (a web search for Moorea Transport will get that for you). She is a lovely lady who gave us several interesting options including a tour of Tetiaroa?, Marlon Brando's island and some tempting ideas for Moorea. There is a motu picnic operator at Muri Lagoon in the Cooks. Sorry, can't remember the name but a web search should turn it up.

Cheers,

Andre

Another idea is renting a car and driving around Rarotonga by yourselves. We rented a convertible Mazada Miata( approx. $70.00 ). We made stops along the way, checking out different hotels and beaches. Stopped at Muri Beach and a few other snorkeling spots. For us this was the perfect way to see Rarotonga. We also took a little road up the mountain. There are two roads in Raro, one that goes along the water and the other that goes up the mountain. We used Budget for our car rental. We did not book ahead of time and were lucky to get the last convertible of the day. If you plan on renting, I suggest you book ahead of time. We brought a picnic lunch, sandwiches, fruit, chips from the ship. Remember to bring sandwich bags and freezer size bags from home, they really come in handy.
