Babydoll2012 Posted August 16, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 16, 2012 Hi, I was wondering if any of you have stayed on the allure of the seas. I want to book for honeymoon but just wondering were the best balcony cabins are. I see there is central park ones boardwalk ones or seaview ones. Also whereabouts on the ship is best. I think i would like to be away slightly from the elevator because people gathering there would be noisy. I suppose i don't want too be stuck beside a noisy crew room or under the nightclub bars etc. I'm 26 and will be out most nights to the all hours but like my own quiet space at the same time. I have never been on a cruise before so really clueless. Thanks :)
yogimax Posted August 16, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 16, 2012 Hi Babydoll and welcome to Cruise Critic. Congratulations on your upcoming honeymoon. In general, the Central Park Balconies are the most affordable, but it depends if you want a balcony overlooking water or interior scenery. I have never noticed a problem with people gathering at elevators and many people actually prefer those cabins for the convenience. There is much to be said so I would suggest you google "Allure of the Seas cabins" and you will discover more information than you can imagine! cb at sea Posted August 16, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 16, 2012 The stairs and elevators are in a foyer, so folks won't be gathering outside your door...not a noise issue. Personally, I want a balcony to see the ocean...not folks in common areas. I'd always pick an Ocean view balcony.
DonnaK Posted August 19, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 19, 2012 Actually, on Oasis/Allure, you want to be close to the elevators because it makes getting around this huge ship more efficient. No worries about noise - the elevators are in their own lobby (even if it doesn't look that way on the deck plans). I would pick an oceanview balcony on deck 8 near the rear elevator bank because it is convenient to all the neighborhoods. Again, the venues are separated from the cabins, although it doesn't look that way on the deck plans. You can use Central Park as a walk through to get from one end of the ship to the other (instead of walking through hallways of seemingly endless cabin doors). However, any deck from 6 to 10 or 11 would be fine. Any higher, and people have reported being bothered by noise from the pool decks above. We were on deck 10 near the forward elevators, which was very good.
vrock Posted August 20, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 20, 2012 We were in an ocean view balcony on deck 8 last year and loved it. This year we will be in an ocean view balcony on deck 7. We loved the ocean view I do not think I would like the boardwalk or central park balcony as well. Have a wonderful Honeymoon trip:)
MrCruzeaddict Posted August 30, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 30, 2012 We're sailing on the Oasis in a couple of weeks (2nd time) and we sailed on the Allure last year. We had a Central Park Balcony the 1st time on the Oasis and was it quiet! They had bird chirping sounds too! If you don't want the ocean breeze, you might want to consider one of these. We had a Boardwalk Balcony last year on the Allure, right across from Johnny Rockets. Much more traffic there, but if you closed & locked the door, VERY little noise was heard. We were able to watch the Aqua shows from the balcony which was COOL! Another plus is that they show a movie on the Aqua Theater screen around 11:30pm if you're not out partying. you can watch that from the balcony too. We have another Boardwalk balcony for this cruise too, so I guess it's up to you. Do you want to see the water or not. Joe<----Just countin' down the days! :D
