celestialcruiser Posted August 17, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Leaving from Seattle in two weeks on Golden. I see the first staggered boarding time is noon. Are they allowing anyone to board before then? Just wondered what anyone's recent experience has been. Thanks so much.
NRG Posted August 17, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 17, 2012 Leaving from Seattle in two weeks on Golden. I see the first staggered boarding time is noon. Are they allowing anyone to board before then? Just wondered what anyone's recent experience has been. Thanks so much. There is no staggered boarding. We had priority boarding and sat in a special waiting area. At 11:40 they started boarding wheel chair passengers and we boarded at 11:45, the other passengers started at about noon. This was three weeks ago. celestialcruiser Posted August 18, 2012 Author #3 Share Posted August 18, 2012 Thanks. I knew they weren't enforcing the staggered boarding, just wondering if anyone was boarding earlier than the first scheduled staggered boarding time. Guess we'll arrive around 11:30-12. Once Upon A Time Posted August 18, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2012 We were on the Bon Voyage Experience with some of our family.. Boarded before all other passengers at 11:00am .. If you really want to be on early, that was the way to go.. Lots of fun for the whole family, great lunch and they didn't have to leave until 4:30pm.. Big plus …. they were able to use the cost toward a cruise for themselves… also, a good way for a non passenger to buy a FCC.. they are assigned a ships card, Capt. Circle number which is attached to a credit card.. can just fill out FCC form and leave it in the box by the FC office.. worked like a charm.. In San Pedro (LA) the BVE group didn't board until after 11:30 and they were requested to leave 15 minutes prior to Muster which was 3:15 on our cruise. Our DD and DS did the BVE before one of our recent cruises and it was strange being on an almost empty ship for a little while. I had seen posts about a year ago that so may were using the ability to board early with family members doing the BVE that booked passengers were not being allowed to book with them. I have no idea if that actually happened.
Rare TracieABD Posted August 18, 2012 #6 Share Posted August 18, 2012 I have heard that they limit the BVE to 40 pax, so it would be interesting to know...:)
