Cruise to Dunns River Falls excursion

Has anyone gone on the ship's excursion called Cruise to Dunns River Falls? You take a boat to the falls and after you climb up the boat takes you back to the pier. There is supposed to be some form of entertainment by Jamaican performers on the ride back. If anyone has gone on this excursion please let me know what you thought of it.

Also, would any of you consider climbing the Falls to be dangerous?

We did not go on this, but the people looked like they were already having a good time.. even before it left the dock!

I´m also interested in a catamaran cruise to the falls.

Any experiences or hints ?

We took RCCL shore excursion "Cruise to Dunn's River Falls" it was $49 per person last October. There were 6 of us and it was very hot, you board a ship called the "Sundancer" and take a leisurely cruise to the Falls enjoying non-alcholic punch. They drop you off and give you ample time to climb the falls or to climb the stairs that goes alongside of the falls, or you can just swim & relax on the beach. We chose to take the stairs and it was fun watching all the people trying to climb the falls. We then returned to the "Sundancer" and that's when you are served all the "Rum punch" you care to drink, then the music, dancing and partying starts. We hated it when we were back at the pier and had to get off and return to the ship. I would not recommend this excursion for children because of the drinking on the return voyage. The 6 of us had a blast it was the best excursion we took on our 7 day cruise. Hope this helps. BTW this is a boat not a catamaran.
