$hip$hape Posted January 22, 2013 #427 Share Posted January 22, 2013 please correct if I am wrong, that is right next to the Intrepid museum? Close You may remember this none-story from July 8, 2012 : NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Stronger-than-usual rip currents led the Norwegian Star cruise liner to cause a wake at Pier 88 on Sunday morning. The Coast Guard said that strong currents in the Hudson River forced the gigantic Norwegian cruise liner to use more propulsion. As a result, that created some large waves which proceeded to bounce around a historic submarine at the Intrepid Sea, Air And Space Museum. beachmonkey Posted January 22, 2013 #435 Share Posted January 22, 2013 Does anyone know what the plank is and how it will be used?
ndstagetech Posted January 22, 2013 #436 Share Posted January 22, 2013 I believe the plank is more like two planks that extend off the side of the boat. One plank you walk on...the other plank above you holds the lifeline that will be clipped to your harness. Its a simulated "walking the plank" experience. CruisingSwedes Posted January 22, 2013 #438 Share Posted January 22, 2013 Wondering if anyone knows the height and/or age restrictions for the water slides? Thanks!
HUBison2008 Posted January 22, 2013 #439 Share Posted January 22, 2013 Wondering if anyone knows the height and/or age restrictions for the water slides? Thanks! Similar question. Kinda related, but not exactly. Is the water in the pools and/or the slides heated? Or is this something we won't know until she sails?

Highboy90 Posted January 23, 2013 #446 Share Posted January 23, 2013 What does this indent? Some cabins have more room than others or is it bed related?
gambee Posted January 23, 2013 #447 Share Posted January 23, 2013 What does this indent? Some cabins have more room than others or is it bed related? You know I wondered that myself. My wild guess is that it has to do with the bed configuration, either close to the hallway or the balcony. Our room is one of the few that does not have indentation, it's a full rectangle. timcar Posted January 23, 2013 #448 Share Posted January 23, 2013 What does this indent? Some cabins have more room than others or is it bed related? I hope someone knows. Was wondering that myself. Especially since I am booked in one myself. Is it maybe rooms that can have 4 people?
OnTheGoMom921 Posted January 23, 2013 #449 Share Posted January 23, 2013 What does this indent? Some cabins have more room than others or is it bed related? It seems that indent houses the bed. Some beds are closer to the balcony and some are closer to the cabin door. Epic has the same concept but with "waves", whereas the Breakaway has no curved walls. If you look closely at balcony cabin artist renderings, you will notice there are 2 bacony room depictions. One shows the bed closer to the balcony and the other near the door. Bed near balcony:(whoops, sorry, I pulled up the floorplan for that style, but you see what I mean) Bed near cabin door: here it is: Notice the background differences (ie. cabin door/balcony sliders) ~Enjoy, Michele
Highboy90 Posted January 23, 2013 #450 Share Posted January 23, 2013 Thank you VERY much Michele for helping qlarify this. Thus, the image I attached, the bed would be mid room and NOT by the balcony door. Correct?
