You will have wifi access in every cabin. Depending on plan to purchase $.40 - $.75 a minute. Owners suites and Deluxe owners suites come with a laptop but no FREE wifi.

 

Cell service is available as well on the ship but like wifi not free no matter what plan you have. Think in terms of $2.50 a minute.

Most(if not all) of the NCL ships have the cell to satellite systems now so your cell will work almost everywhere on the ship, even when you're out at sea. Rates vary ($2.50/min with Verizon I believe) so be sure to check with your carrier. Also, I highly recommend shutting off the data services from your phone once you board. My BIL left his phone on during a cruise on the Pearl and his data charges were over $800 for the week! Be careful.

Not signature but rather mini bowling on the Breakaway. You can see the space in O'Shehans.

Having been on the Epic three times (so far), we've always enjoyed the Courtyard within the Haven. Most of it is open to the sky. Looking at the pictures of the Breakaway, it looks like the entire Courtyard is covered by a glass canopy. Is this true?

 

I understand that Breakaway will be often cruising in cooler NYC temperatures, but I'm hopeful that the entire Courtyard is not covered.

It appears that the Breakaway Haven has some significant differences from the Epic. It also appears that it is quite different from the original renderings. Having only seen pictures of the Epic, it seems that while standing in the Courtyard you have an additional story of cabins above you. Does this create a "closed in" feeling? The Breakaway seems to look more like the Jewel class ships in that once in the Courtyard, you have only the glass above you. Also, maybe it's just the few pictures I've seen, but the Breakaway's pools look strangely small and shallow....especially when you consider there may be up to 80 cabins that have access to this area. Can't wait to see some better interior pics of The Haven.

I know this pic of breakaway & epic are not at same exact angle but couldn't find anything closer . at least we can see what a dramatic change has been made .

the more i think about it, and i'm sure this has been said before, i dont know how crazy i am about being on a ship called "Breakaway". (let's hope she stays in one piece, lol).

 

I agree! I thought "What an Odd name for a ship". First thing that comes to mind is the Breakapart. Let's hope that's not the case

Looks like 3 pools on the Breakaway. Much more pool space then the Epic that has even more passengers with access. Looks like it will have the same issue as the pool deck. I see the limited poolside loungers filled with towels early in the Breakaway courtyard but at least there is addition loungers on deck 17.

I see on Deck 14 that big empty area says "Spa", but on Deck 8 there is the same large big empty area that has not label, can't for the life of me figure out what this emptiness is, it can't possibly be a giant corridor, can it? They would not waste all of this space, would they?

It most likely is an area of the ship for the crew, etc. Possibly storage, maybe space for the kitchen for Lacucina? I have often found the blank areas are for the crew. It also seems to be an area over the theatre on deck 7. That could also have something to do with it though I really am not sure.

The theatre theory did cross my mind, but then my cabin and those around me are over the theatre and they exist and unless you go to bed before 10 PM the noise issue would not be a problem as shows are typically over at that hour. The crew and storage real estate are usually on the lower decks I thought?

Hi all, request for those of you on one of the first few sailings, if it's not too much trouble and you remember could you get some spa info and post about it? Like weekly pass cost, if the salt room is included etc.

 

I'm booked in a mid-ship mini. DH would use the spa often so I already know we would get the weekly pass. Was thinking of just upgrading to the Spa-mini. It's about $600 more. If the weekly pass is closer to the Epic cost ($149 pp I think I read?) and if they weekly passes sell out quickly I may just go with the Spa-mini to make sure he has access. Would have loved to book the Spa Suite but it only holds 2 :( Still can't figure that one out...

 

Any info you can bring back is appreciated.
