Country Squire Restaurant and Pub

If we want to go to Country Squire Restaurant and Pub in Somerset (Mangrove Bay) from Kings Wharf, what bus do we catch and how late does it run coming back? Do we need to tell the Bus driver to drop us off at any particular place? Thanks a lot for any help you can be.

You could take either the route #7 or #8 bus; just tell the bus driver the name of the restaurant and he will drop you at the closest stop to your destination.

It is about a 10 minute bus ride from the Dockyard; the last weekday bus (route #8) departs Hamilton at 10:45pm which should put the bus in the vicinity of the restaurant by 11:20-11:30pm.

We were very disappointed in the area of Somerset. Our taxi driver near Tobacco bay suggested the area as nice to walk around and pretty sites. We took the ferry to dockyard, then the bus, changing our plans on our last full day to go there and..what a let down! There is no quaint village to explore, as we were led to believe.

We arrived to the "village" (just several storefronts) and it was stinking hot so we stopped in the Country Squire Restaurant and Pub. It was about 11:30 and they weren't open officially yet, but there was a young waiter milling around the outside porch. He seemed to have absolutely no clue about prices, or even how to respond to simple questions. We even had to ask for a menu! We just wanted a refreshing drink, so we ordered 2 smoothies ( very delicious!) which took at least 15-20 minutes! Odd since we were the only customers.

I'm not a negative, complaining person- just wanted to give you the heads up. We lost a whole morning with this fiasco of then having to take # 7 bus all the way back to Hamilton. We did see pretty sites along the way, even though we had the grumpiest bus driver ever! LOL!

The rest of cruise was wonderful. :)
