I will be cruising on MS Soundof Music Sept 16. Will try to post review.

Just returned from SmarTours land tour and then onto Danube river cruise from Nuremburg to Budapest. Gate 1 tour groups were also on this boat

We had a great time

This may not be the most luxurious of the river boats but it is the best deal for the price.

Food was good. Free wine and beer at dinner saved alot of $

Optional excursions to Schonbrunn palace and Vienna concert were very enjoyable

Included tours to Melk abbey, City tours of Regensburg, Passau, Vienna , Budapest etc were terrific

Trip thru Wachau Valley had beautiful scenery with castles

No problem with water level

It was a bit cooler than I thought it would be

About the only improvement I would suggest is the nightly entertainment-

Cabins were spacious enough with plenty of storage Any specific questions?.?

did you go to any baths in budapest? is tipping the staff on the cruise the same as large cruise ships? cabin stewart $10.00 per day per person, etc? and do they let you bring adult beverasges back on ship? or when you embark? and is shampoo etc provided?:confused:

You can bring any type of adult beverages onto the ship

 

Shampoo, etc provided

 

Bring an adapter , also use for hair dryer

 

One tip for entire crew-suggested approx. $15 per person per day

 

We gave extra to our waiter and Cabin attendant

Thankyou for the information as we are on the Gate1 April 15 cruise/tour. When you mention adapter, do you mean the plug or something else? Did you bring a hair dryer?

Did you fly Lufthansa from JFK round trip as part of Smartours package? Do you remember the flight schedule and were you able to book seats prior to arriving st the airport? Was the land tour in Switzerland and how we're the hotels?
