Free Internet in Azores

Recommended Posts

With the high price of internet on most ships, we were delighted (and astounded) in Ponta Delgada to discover that the phone company offered free internet.

As you walk into town, there is a traffic circle where the main street intersects the street that runs along the waterfront. On the right side of the main street (facing into town) there is large building marked Communique. As you enter the building, turn right, and there is a room with 16-18 computers which are free for public use!

Since we were on a transatlantic cruise that had just finished 7 days at sea, we welcomed the chance to check e-mail, contact our family, check flights, etc. without having to worry about the $.50 a minute charge that the ship was asking!
