Hi there! I believe that we are on the same cruise (October 29 from Rome to Barcelona?). Since we have a long day on Elba, we have booked a one tank scuba dive for the morning and have rented a car to explore the island for the afternoon. We found that the prices for car rentals were very reasonable, especially compared to the ship excursions.

We have booked a car through Happy Rent for 40 Euro for the day. They have been very responsive to my emails and indicate that their rental office is near the port where we will dock.

I just came back from a few days on Elba. If the weather is clear, I am told that you can get a fantastic view when riding the cable car. We had lots of cloud, and couldn't attempt the cable car, but the food and wine were very good!
