BRAZIL VISA via Los Angeles Consulate?

Am leaving on Dec. 2 cruise from Malaga to Rio. Has anyone used the Brazilian consulate in L.A. in person to secure their visas? Azamara is booking our air and I am concerned about getting the flight info in ample time to secure our visas being that Thanksgiving holidays are in the time frame. We live in So. Cal. so prefer not to use a visa service. Anyone have some advice for us? thanks

The strike affecting some Brazilian consulates and embassies is over, with signing of the new salary deal for most (but not all) public employees? The "Los Angeles" consulate is in Beverly Hills, of course. I doubt they'd check on your airline tickets if they aren't confirmed when you apply.
