Another Atlantis question

to me if the shore excursion codes still worked it would because that brings the total down to 157.50 and 25 dollars extra a person compared to that 125 u pay outside of carnival is worth it to me. Especially when you don't have to pay for transportation and a meal is included. But them darn shore excursion codes expired :( Go figure

No. Find a nice beach, and walk around Atlantis on your own after grabbing a timeshare brochure.

But don't walk onto the beach by Atlantis. They will not let you back onto the property without a band. They will make you walk around (unless you have a great sob story).

We just took a cab to Atlantis,(on our own) then explored around. Went to the casino, walked around the grounds, even saw the aquarium ...for free...then we walked to the free beach and enjoyed our day......

Hi Beachlover!

Do you know if you can still do that?

Yanska.

Could I get some opinions?? Is the 175 a person Atlantis tickets really worth it??

No, we did this excursion and it was not worth it. It seemed Carnival was really un-organized when we got off the ship and then when we got to Atlantis, they gave a tour of the grounds (I would try and skip that if you decide to do this excursion). By the time we got to the waterpark, the lines for the lockers and slides were extremely long. I would say we didn't even get to start riding the waterslides until a couple hours after debarking the ship. Just not worth the $175. I was really bummed because that was one of the things we were really looking forward to on this trip.

If you're set on going to Atlantis you also have the option of booking a room at Comforts Suites Paradise Island. Depending on the rate it can save a ton of money. When I did this recently I paid approximately $600 for 2 rooms for 1 night for 3 adults & 5 children. We took a taxi to Comfort Suites, checked in & checked out at the same time, went to the desk at the Royal Towers to get our bands & Atlantis was ours for the rest of the day. As a guest of Comfort Suites you have access to all of Atlantis including Aquaventure, beaches and any other areas for Atlantis guests. It was definitely worth it for us. We all had a blast!

We did it one time.... on our own.... about $110 - $120 per person...then had to rent a locker for $12. Just took a taxi from the port...

They do not open the water park until 10AM.... which was ok since the line for the lockers was horrendously long.

We left at 2PM...

While we are glad we did it once...just to say we have...we won't ever do it again...just was not worth it to us.

Just FYI.... 23 year old son got a nasty abrasion on his shoulder from the water slide. We went to their little medical office and they did a great job of patching him up for free....but that was over a year ago and he still has a good size scar.

We did this excursion thru Carnival. There were 5 of us and we enjoyed it very much, the kids loved it. Everything at Atlantis is very expensive so glad we had lunch and a drink included. A large bottle of water there was $10.00,and no water fountains on the property, so bring water bottles with you. Don't think I would go there again but once was great.

We did it on our own and would do it again in a hearbeat

It was over $100 (and I refused to pay until I hit in the casino) but if your a lazy river or waterslide person you will love it ,after we did it I was happy my wife talked me into it

It was worth it for us. DH and I took our DS who is 9. We went in August. There were 4 ships in port that day and our ship did not arrive until Noon! There were lines, but nothing unmanageable. We went through the casino, The Dig, Predator Lagoon, ate lunch, then headed to the water park. Did the lazy river several times, played in the pools and went down several slides. We still were not rushed to get back to the ship.

In response to others not paying and just walking in.... We ran into a couple we had met on the shp and they did just that. Took a cab and walked right in. No one ever stopped them and no one ever checked our wrist bands. (not saying I would recommend it, just saying it happens)

When we were their a few years ago their was a security guard at the door to the water park checking for wristbands ,maybe their are different entrances but I doubt it

Was there last year. We took the cab over, cost $10 with tip for 2 people one way. We went inside the hotel and walked around. A member of the staff inside asked if we needed help. We told her we were just there to walk around. She then proceeded to give us a map of the place and we continued on. We went out to the grounds and walked around where they didn't check for wrist bands. We were able to walk on the sidewalk by the beach, over the suspension bridge, saw the big pool with sharks, and walked by some small aquariums.

The only areas that looked restricted to us were the pools/beaches/water park/main attraction aquariums/the lobby.

You are able to walk in the casino but they check bands at the main entrance to the lobby. Atlantis seemed empty when we were there and we walked by quite a few employees. Nobody said anything to us otherwise. Enjoyable cheap day :)

When I went about 3-4 years ago, we got a day pass for four for $120 total from a nearby hotel. Want to say Comfort Suites or something like that. We didn't use a room, but got the bands to go to Atlantis.

Yep. We just did that on our last cruise. Grand Turk switched to Nassau bc of Isaac...

Comfort Suites looked full. Called their local number. Told them we just wanted Atlantis access... And, they booked us. Spent HALF of what it would have been through Carnival...

We loved Atlantis. Beautiful. Great water rides. Stuff for everyone to enjoy. Lines weren't bad AT ALL. And, there were 4Carnival ships and the Disney behemoth in port bc of Isaac...

But, we'll only do it when we have our son cruising with us...

They definitely check now... Saw a group that had been annoying everyone all week. They tried to just walk in. We had our wristbands on. They didn't. And, they were denied access.
